The following is a review of the Apple In Ear Headphones with Remote and Mic. The Apple In Ear Headphones are a set of higher end canalphones that claim to offer a better sound then the stock earbuds that come with iPods and iPhones. This isn that hard to beat, but let see my Apple In Ear Headphones Review.
Design This is an element that Apple is pretty much never beaten in, in any of their products. The design is simple, white, small and very nice looking. When they in your ears, they will look very similar to the stock earbuds that come with Apple iPods (for future reference I will call the stock earbuds the They have a lovely stainless steel finish to the ends of them. The remote is nicely designed. My only issue is that you will need to take good care of the plug with these. It the same design as the iBuds and that was the first bit that broke on my pair. That said, the Apple In Ears don look or feel any cheaper then other high end earphones, even better in some ways.
Comfort This is of course a bit of a subjective part of the review process, since each reviewer is different. I did have a little bit of trouble getting the earbuds to stay in place for a while (see the link below for details on how I solved it) but once I got the perfect eartips and perfected my insertion technique, there were no issues. These are beautiful earphones. They are extremely comfortable to wear and while I am used to in ear headphones, I suspect even new comers will find the experience liberating. Warning: It easy to forget these are in your ears!
Sound Of course the real reason that people buy this type of phone is for a higher quality music experience. While I no hard core audiophile, I do like nice sounding music, and I am pleased to say the Apple In Ears are truly wonderful sounding devices. I really like the drum sounds especially (the sizzle on the high hat is amazing - listen to some disco songs for a go!) sol republic and the instrument separation is great. You can almost into the music and selectively listen to each instrument. Apple bill these phones as letting you hear parts of the music that you never heard before. That a big claim, but it does stack up if you been used to lower quality earphones.
Bass This gets its own section as this is the bit that the Apple In Ears are criticized most for. These are not a set of headphones for bass freaks. If you like subwoofers and pounding drum and bass, don look here. The bass that is here is very controlled, very popsolrepublic.com clean. It not center stage, but it sure is present. I like the bass on the Apple In Ears, and although it took me a bit of getting used to (after having earphones with bass I really like the ability to hear the music as the original artist intended it. The bass on these earphones are great.
Finally, the Apple In Earphones with Remote and Mic are one of the cheaper options out there for this quality product. If you new to the world of canalphones, these can be a great starting point. If you an audiophile, I suspect you would be pleasantly surprised at these things. And if you a person who has always dealt with inferior earphones, well, these will blow you away.
